A more accurate translation of the title would be "The Goose That Laid the Golden Eggs" but it is more widely known as the "The Golden Goose"

 

“Those who are greedy and always want more will lose all”. John, a poor farmer, who was blessed with a goose that could lay golden eggs, became a rich man. However, due to his greed, John kills the golden goose hoping for more and realises his stupidity.

 

This book introduces simple sentences in Mandarin Chinese with pinyin which will help children at the intermediate level to read by themselves and for reading aloud with beginners new to the language. A thoughtful “valuable life lesson” is highlighted at the end of each story invites discussion and will make even the youngest children want to return to these story books again and again.
