The Lion King cartoon is so adorable (such as the music video below) for the little ones to watch but we forget that there are some rather scary scenes especially when Simba's father, Mufasa, is killed by a stampede of wildebeests. My children (4-5 years old then) also found the scenes of the bloodthirsty hyenas, scavenging for food and threatening Simba and his friends, very frightening.
If you, like me, found some parts of the cartoon a little too scary for young toddlers, read them the story book instead and enjoy the songs on Youtube. Click here to buy the book.
