腊八节 Laba Festival (Bilingual)

Simplified Chinese Characters and Pinyin with English translation. Bilingual Mandarin Chinese Storybook (24 Pages).

腊八节 (là bā jié), Laba Festival, celebrated on the 8th  day of the 12th month of the Chinese calendar, was originally an occasion for people to give sacrifices to their ancestors, and to pray to heaven and earth for a good harvest and good luck for the family. Many years later, it has evolved into a Laba rice porridge eating event - a porridge that contains different types of rice, beans, dried nuts, bean curd and meat.  As such it is now customary to eat Laba rice porridge on this day.

This book tells the story of 腊八节or the Laba Festival in simple sentences in Mandarin Chinese with pinyin which will help children at the intermediate level to read by themselves and for reading aloud with beginners new to the language.
